We’re excited to share a thoughtful recap from QV Venture Resident, Ursula., on last month’s Quantum Massachusetts Conference in Boston. The momentum in the field was unmistakable.
Ursula writes:"It was inspiring to witness the growing momentum in quantum computing at the Quantum Massachusetts conference in Boston. Across industry, academia, and funding, it’s clear that 2025 has been a landmark year. Breakthroughs in quantum error correction, reduced error rates in superconducting qubits, and advances in trapped-ion systems such as Quantinuum’s progress in fidelity, coherence, and logical qubit demonstrations all signal that the field is accelerating on multiple fronts.
Qubits Ventures’ Nardo Manaloto participated in the panel on Building, Retaining, and Sustaining Quantum Ecosystems. While the conversation focused on Massachusetts, Nardo highlighted the global dimension: a strong ecosystem must attract companies and talent worldwide. He also noted that many key parts of the quantum supply chain are not venture-backable, yet bringing these companies into the ecosystem can catalyze further growth.Echoing other panelists, Nardo emphasized the importance of product thinking, envisioning end-user applications and building quantum technologies with tangible impact.
Finally, sustaining quantum ecosystems requires making the technology human again: engaging impact investors, and even artists and philosophers, to ensure quantum innovation connects with society, creativity, and long-term purpose."
We’re proud of Ursula’s contributions and grateful to the Quantum Massachusetts community for fostering such an insightful discussion on the future of quantum innovation.
